Network Engineer
Full-time 12-Month Position with Medical Benefits
Salary $55,000 to $65,000
Anticipated start date: January 5, 2026

QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field
Certifications preferred: CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, and Cisco CCNA
Must have a valid New Jersey driver's license and insurance card, and a good driving record as demonstrated by a review of the same by the Board of Education's insurance carrier

PRIMARY FUNCTION: To design, implement, maintain, and troubleshoot the computer networks throughout the district

REPORTS TO: Technology Coordinator

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Installs network cabling, performs cable terminations, and maintains MDF/IDFs
Configures, tests, and maintains servers, switches, wireless access points, security camera systems, and other related network infrastructure equipment
Installs firmware and security updates on servers, switches, and related networking equipment
Configures and maintains Active Directory and associated group policy objects
Configures and maintains IPS/IDS, next-gen firewalls, and EDR system
Oversees installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of network connected end-user hardware, software, and peripheral devices
Responsible for software deployments as well as updates/patches to workstations
Maintains the golden images used for workstation image deployment
Manages MDM solution for all district owned mobile devices
Plans, recommends, and assists in the design of local or remote computer systems
Oversees the day-to-day operation of the computer networks including LAN-to-LAN/WAN systems; evaluates system performance and recommends solutions
Assists in maintaining security of the district's routers and servers from unauthorized intrusion by either physical or by remote electronic means
Researches and recommends network hardware and software
Travels between schools or locations to provide in-person support; reliable transportation is necessary
Performs other duties which may be within the scope of their employment and certifications as may be assigned by the superintendent or designee
