**Job Title: Mill Operator** **Job Description** As a Mill Operator, you will be responsible for cleaning and removing product from floors and placing it into bins. You will also be tasked with dumping product on the 7th floor into the silo and making mill rounds to ensure proper setup and arrangement of equipment for optimal operation. Your role will require reading, assessing, troubleshooting, and adjusting mill flow while having a good understanding of all other flows and flow sheets in the mill. You will monitor and regulate production parameters to ensure that controlled processes are maintained at peak efficiency. **Responsibilities** + Clean and remove product from floors, placing it into bins. + Dump product on the 7th floor into the silo. + Make mill rounds to ensure proper setup and arrangement of equipment. + Read, assess, troubleshoot, and adjust mill flow. + Understand all other flows and flow sheets in the mill. + Monitor and regulate production parameters to maintain peak efficiency. **Essential Skills** + Production experience. + 1+ years of previous work experience in production or food manufacturing. + General working knowledge of computers. + Ability to lift up to 50lbs. + Comfortable standing for the entire shift. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Previous experience in a mill is preferred. + General labor skills. + General computer knowledge is preferred. **Why Work Here?** This role offers a dynamic and engaging work environment where you can develop your skills and grow professionally. The company provides necessary protective gear, ensuring your safety and comfort. **Work Environment** This is a very warm environment, with temperatures averaging 80 degrees and potentially reaching upwards of 100 degrees. There is an air-conditioned control room where employees spend about 30-40% of their time, but you must be comfortable with heat. The dress code includes jeans/work pants, boots, and no jewelry. The company provides a hair net, beard net if applicable, hard hat, and lab coat. The shift schedule is from 7pm to 7am, following a 2 on, 2 off, 3 on, 2 off pattern. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract position based out of Ames, IA. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $19.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
