**Job Title: Assembler - 1st Shift**
**Job Description**
Join our manufacturing team as an Assembler, where you will play a vital role in assembling various components and subassemblies to produce finished fabricated sheet metal products. This position offers a first shift schedule with opportunities for overtime.
**Responsibilities**
+ Prepare work by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists; gather necessary parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
+ Position parts and subassemblies using templates or by reading measurements.
+ Assemble components by examining connections for correct fit and fastening parts and subassemblies.
+ Verify specifications by measuring completed components.
+ Resolve assembly problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications and notify supervisors to obtain additional resources.
+ Accurately read and follow blueprint specifications to ensure correct assembly.
+ Proficiently use hand tools in assembly processes.
+ Utilize overhead cranes and forklifts to move products throughout the assembly area.
**Essential Skills**
+ Mechanical assembly proficiency.
+ Ability to work with hand tools and basic measurement tools.
+ Blueprint reading skills, akin to assembling furniture from online instructions.
+ Machine building and sheet metal assembly experience.
+ Ability to follow instructions accurately.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Own screwdrivers, wrenches, socket sets, and other basic hand tools.
+ Experience in building automation and controls.
+ Commitment to maintaining equipment and a safe, clean work environment.
+ Ability to maintain supplies inventory and support quality systems.

**Work Environment**
Work in a clean and organized facility with a team-focused atmosphere. The shop operates between 5 AM and 3:30 PM, with opportunities for overtime. Dress code requires appropriate attire for a manufacturing setting, and employees are expected to bring their own basic hand tools.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bay City, Michigan.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $18.00/hr.
